Extry, Extry! Book I Finished

Posted by on May 31, 2010 in Games | 0 comments

A smile on my face, Byan Adams’ Touch the Hand playing, today the first book of Newsies & Bootblacks has just been finished. It comprises all the rules needed to play the game. Book II New Paris detailing the setting, and Book III Adventures on New Paris, on well, adventures will cover everything else. I am pretty confident I will be able to finish before schedule. Which is great, because I have ideas for other games already boiling in my head. But that’s for another time. Anything different from Newsies and Pickpockets? In a word, yes. First of all the rules has been...

Changes, more changes

As you can see, I’ve been changing more than a few things around here in MiniM. It’s not that l love change — well I do– but that I’m still trying to discover what’s the best way to implement my dreams. That, and, that I’m keeping the work on Newsies & Bootblacks, of course, but we will speak about that a bit later. Changes to the design of the blog. Since the very start of this game I’ve been struggling to find a compromise between a theme that says “I’m minimalist” and “I make games”, and a design that...

Extry! Extry! Oh, not quite, in fact it’s my regular post on this adventure I call MiniM Role-playing. This week has mean a complete success with total visits approaching 536 this week; not bad for such a young blog as this one. As you could know, I’m following Everett’s Bogue method on Minimalist Fussiness and so far I am pleased with the results. Honest, I’ve never been as successful as getting somebody to comment this soon. Normally I have to wait for a month or so before I get the first comment which is not from a friend or family member. I’m sucking on...

The Midnight Café

Newsies and Bootblacks will come with a handful of interesting locations which, I hope, will be useful in your own adventures or inspire you to create your own. Let me stress this: there is no standard setting in this game, no norm from which you could deviate. If you like the background material as it would be published, then choose it. If you’d rather play on a historical New York, your local town or a city of your own imagination, by all means, do. The structure of the N&B “locations” is quite simple. First, comes a description, then, then I suggest where in New...
