Good kids, bad kids
Brian Gross won the first comment award in this blog and he achieved it with honors, bringing an important subject to mind. Public opinion about those who live on the streets is rarely positive, even in the case of children. First impressions do count, and shabby clothes, street manners and poverty do not help at all. Add a few stealing incidents, add kids acting as kids — homeless or not, and we have a nice distorted caricature of them that can be handy for a politician looking for an easy scapegoat.
